OUR HISTORY AND PURPOSE
The Statewide Hispanic Chamber of Commerce of New Jersey (SHCC), had its beginnings in 1989 with modest volunteer efforts from five local leaders of Hispanic Chamber of Commerce to unite in order to help each other. Since mid 1998, SHCC has become the largest chamber in New Jersey and rated among the top chambers in the Garden State for ten consecutive years. SHCC is the Flagship of the Small Business Community and its non-Hispanic membership has grown to forty-five percent. SHCC is the vehicle to access the latino community and its formidable purchasing power. SHCC has been actively involve with the U.S. Hispanic Chamber of Commerce.
The Statewide Hispanic Chamber of Commerce (SHCC) is a voluntary membership network of individuals, businesses, Hispanic Chambers of Commerce and professional business associations across New Jersey and the Philadelphia area, seeking to represent over seventy five thousand businesses, working to:
1. Expand business opportunities 2. Encourage mutually beneficial ties with the public and private sectors 3. Serve as an active and visible advocate in the political process and to 4. Actively promote trade between the business community of New Jersey, National and its international counterparts
OBJECTIVES
- To strengthen and expand the network of Hispanic and professional business associations at the local and state level.
- To identify and communicate the needs of the Hispanic and General business community by increasing relations with the corporate sector.
- To influence legislation, policies and program that have a positive impact on the small business community.
- To provide technical assistance to small businesses, professional associations, and entrepreneurs through regional meetings, seminars, conferences and annual state convention.
- To continue to provide strong leadership for New Jersey with the United States Hispanic Chamber of Commerce.
- To provide leadership and support for excellence in education NOW for future business leaders.
