CLOUDLABS STEM IS DEVELOPING COMPETENCIES TODAY FOR THE PROFESSIONALS OF THE FUTURE
A case study by Reina Valenzuela, HETP Head Coach
SHCCNJ and the HETP program have been instrumental in identifying strategies to move forward and resources to make this happen.
-Jiovanny Orozco, CloudLabs

Jiovany Orozco’s primary motivation was to transform education as we know it by integrating technology, innovation, and pedagogy. CloudLabs’ virtual STEM labs simulate real-life situations that require a simple solution using knowledge of physics, biology, chemistry, mathematics, robotics, agriculture, biotechnology, electronics, and electricity, among others. Gamification was incorporated to keep students engaged in
the process and change their mindset toward science.
The COVID pandemic caused a shift in education, and online
learning became the norm. CloudLabs saw an opportunity to
expand from Florida into other states. Jiovany chose New
Jersey due to its diversity and strategic geographic
position. However, the stigma attached to Latin products
and talent made him wonder if he would be able to achieve
his goals.
Looking for the right path, Jiovany connected with Luis de la Hoz, SHCCNJ Chairman, who encouraged him to participate in the Chamber’s programs. In 2022, he accessed the Hispanic Entrepreneurship Training Program (HETP); attended business training sessions, and received counseling on legal, accounting, business planning, digital marketing, and team building.
With the support and encouragement of his newfound Chamber #Familia, Jiovany quickly realized that his multilingual platform had a distinct advantage and was of great value to the growing Spanish-speaking community in the United States.
CloudLabs STEM LLC Case Study
The challenges faced by CloudLabs in their growth plans included:
- Focus the sales model with a higher projection towards subscriptions per user.
- Generate new marketing channels that would adapt to the new model.
- Reinforce the portfolio and pitch in the face of the growing demand from Educational Institutions.
- Adjust the organization’s system, customer service, and training processes to a new market. Understand the procurement process for educational institutions and government agencies in the United States.
- Jiovany searched for knowledge and confidence to guide his decision-making process.
How SHCCNJ helped
Jiovany participated in the HETP 2022 training program, where he began to develop a roadmap and direction for the future of CloudLabs in the United States. He learned how to start and operate a company in New Jersey. He also joined the SHCCNJ’s Certifications Masterclass to prepare his company to do business with government entities.
Jiovany and his team had group counseling sessions and an extensive coaching plan with outstanding coaches according to the company’s needs to consolidate CloudLabs as a company in New Jersey, adapt to the U.S. market, build strategic alliances, and meet legal requirements. The coaching plan provided counseling with professionals in different areas:
- Zully Martinez from ADP, in the orientation of the hiring process in the USA.
- Rosemarie Moyeno-Matos Esq., advising on contracts, agreements, and legal structure.
- Reina Valenzuela, reviewing and adjusting the business plan, certifications, and growth strategies. Tatiana Orozco, adjusting the marketing plan and digital strategies.
- Karem Ospino, assisting with accounting and business registration in the State of New Jersey. Luis de la Hoz, providing general guidance and networking opportunities.
Jiovany affirms that with the support of all the coaches, classmates and chamber members, he gained the confidence to continue taking strategic steps that bring him closer to reaching his business goals.
