SHCCNJ Names Deborah Visconi Community Advocate of the Year
November 4, 2025

The Statewide Hispanic Chamber of Commerce of New Jersey will honor Deborah Visconi, President and CEO of Bergen New Bridge Medical Center, as its 2025 Community Advocate of the Year at the Annual Awards Gala on December 11.
A trailblazing Latina healthcare executive, Deborah has dedicated her career to expanding access and equity in care. As the leader behind the transformation of Bergen New Bridge—New Jersey’s largest hospital—from a for-profit model to a thriving nonprofit community asset, she has reshaped the region’s healthcare landscape.
Her focus on underserved and minority communities has led to impactful initiatives, including the CareRite Now primary care centers inside Inserra ShopRite supermarkets, which deliver convenient, affordable healthcare through in-person and telehealth services.
Under Deborah’s leadership, Bergen New Bridge has received national recognition, including Top Hospital and Top Teaching Hospital by the Leapfrog Group, Top Diversity Leader by Modern Healthcare, and Leader in LGBTQ Healthcare Equality by the Human Rights Campaign.
Her lifelong commitment to service and advocacy exemplifies SHCCNJ’s mission to uplift communities and ensure opportunity for all.
