SHCCNJ Represented at 30th Governor’s Conference on Housing and Economic Development 

SHCCNJ had representation at the 30th annual Governor's Conference on Housing and Economic Development, held Sept. 29-30 at Harrah's Resort Atlantic City. 

Chairman Luis O. De La Hoz and Board Member Gladys Vonglahn, owner of GCS Cleaning Enterprises, attended on behalf of the Chamber. They were joined by longtime Chamber supporter Michelle Richardson, executive director of the Hudson County Economic Development Corporation (HCEDC). 

At the keynote luncheon, Gov. Mikie Sherrill addressed New Jersey's rising housing and regulatory costs. She committed to opening the doors of opportunity to every resident. 

For the 180,000+ Latino-owned businesses SHCCNJ represents, housing costs affect where owners live, where employees can afford to work and where new businesses can open. Being in the room keeps those concerns part of the statewide conversation. 

SHCCNJ thanks Gov. Sherrill for her remarks and congratulates the conference on 30 years.
